Ruud has 30 years of energy experience and joins ENGIE E&P in the UK from our affiliate in the Netherlands.

Ruud Zoon – Managing Director

Ruud joins from ENGIE E&P in the Netherlands where he was Managing Director 2010 - 2014. He has 30 years of energy industry experience, holding senior management positions in locations including the Netherlands, Canada, USA, South Africa and Aberdeen, UK. Ruud began his career in 1984 with Mobil Oil Corporation in the Netherlands, UK and USA. He was Vice President Floating Production with Bluewater Energy Services from 1998 - 2003. From 2004 - 2008 Ruud was Vice President East Coast Operations with Husky Energy in Canada. He was Managing Director of Cirrus Energy Nederland B.V. from 2009 before joining the ENGIE Group in 2010. He holds an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the Technical University in Delft.

Kate is our Legal Manager, as well as Company Secretary and Ethics Officer.

Kate Ash – Legal Manager & Company Secretary

Kate got a BA Hons in Russian from Durham University before taking the Common Professional Examination (CPE) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) to study to be a solicitor, qualifying in September 1997. She began her legal career at at Lovell White Durrant (now Hogan Lovells) where she trained to become a solicitor, before moving to Baker Botts LLP. Kate joined ENGIE E&P in the UK in 2007 first as Senior Legal Adviser before becoming Legal Manager. Kate is also Company Secretary and Ethics Officer.

Ian has worked in exploration and production since 1985. He joined ENGIE E&P in the UK in January 2011 as Cygnus Project Manager, before becoming Cygnus Asset Manager.

Ian Conacher – Asset & Development Manager

With an academic background in mechanical engineering and after graduating with a BSc Eng from the University of Aberdeen, Ian’s career began in drilling before moving on to design. For 15 years, he worked in field development, A&D, pre-development and de-commissioning for Shell and Talisman. He holds an MBA from the University of Strathclyde.

With over 20 years industry experience working across geographies, notably with OMV and BG Group, Faheem joined the ENGIE Group in 2008.

Faheem Haider – Manager of Onshore Assets

With over 20 years industry experience working across geographies, notably with OMV and BG Group, Faheem joined the ENGIE Group in 2008. Faheem was initially based in Egypt where he held various senior management positions (Operations General Manager, Asset & Business Development Manager, General Manager Technical & Exploration) over a 5 year period. He then moved back to ENGIE E&P in the UK in 2014 to head up our Unconventional Gas Program. Faheem holds a MSc in Petroleum Production Management with distinction from Imperial College London.

Andy spent 17 years in upstream roles in the exploration and production industries before joining ENGIE E&P in the UK in 2002.

Andy Hirsch – Chief Financial Officer

After completing a Minerals Engineering degree and an MBA, Andy worked in finance roles for Exxon and Hess, developing experience of financial and technical accounting, tax, treasury, planning and M&A, as well as fast-track system development and the implementation of financial systems. He now leads the Finance, Supply Chain, IS and London office teams.

Having worked in operations management for 15 years, Keith took up the role of Operations Manager for ENGIE E&P in the UK in early 2013.

Keith Murphy – Operations and Engineering Manager

Keith Murphy took up the role of Operations Manager for ENGIE E&P in the UK in early 2013, becoming part of the company's Development and Operations Leadership Team in Aberdeen. In early 2014 Keith's role was extended to become the Operations and Engineering Manager. Prior to joining the company, Keith worked in operations management roles for ExxonMobil, Venture Production, Centrica and Apache North Sea Ltd over a period of 15 years. Earlier in his career he worked as an Instrument Engineer for a number of contractors and operators covering assets in the UKCS and overseas. He graduated from Nottingham University in 1983 with a BSc (hons) in Mechanical Engineering, and became a Chartered Engineer in 1992.

Morgan is our Drilling Manager and has over 45 years of industry experience.

Morgan Quennell – Drilling Well Ops Manager

Morgan joined ADEC in September 2011 where he was involved in many varied activities such as the development of the Drilling Competency Assessment program, Relief Drilling Manager in Egypt, closely monitoring all operations for NAD, Harmonizing the Blowout Contingency plan for all the Affiliates etc. He then moved to ENGIE E&P in the UK as Drilling and Completions Manager in July 2013. Prior to joining ADEC Morgan had worked as a Drilling Manager for Unocal, DNO, Lundin, and EnQuest. Morgan has been in the industry for over 45 years in various capacities and has worked in 13 different countries around the world.

With 40 years experience, John is well equipped to be Cygnus Project Manager.

John Rogers – Cygnus Project Manager

With a career spanning nearly 40 years in the industry, John has worked across geographies for a variety of companies in roles including Chief Operating Officer (Rubicon Offshore, Singapore), Managing Director (Wood Group Asset Operations, UK), Senior Project Manager (Husky Energy, Canada and Aker Oil & Gas, Canada). He has been at ENGIE E&P in the UK since 2013 and is Cygnus Project Manager, responsible for the safe and successful delivery of the Cygnus project. John holds a Masters degree in Commercial Law (Distinction), as well as HND in Mechanical and Offshore engineering and Nautical Science. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineers Science and Technologists.

Andy has 38 years' experience in the exploration and production industries, and joined ENGIE E&P in the UK in 1999 as Subsurface Manager.

Andy Spencer – Subsurface Manager

Following his BSC in Geology at University College London and MSc (Distinction) in Petroleum Geology from Imperial College, Andy’s professional experience includes working for the Gulf Oil Company, Tricentrol Plc, and 11 years as Exploration Manager at ARCO British.

Chris leads the Commercial and Business Development activities from our London office.

Chris Starling – Commercial and Business Development Manager

Chris started his career in fund management and corporate finance with Morley Fund Management (Aviva) and the Bank of New York. In 2002 he moved to the energy sector with previous experience at Centrica and Sterling Energy in a variety of commercial, M&A and investor relations roles. Chris first joined the ENGIE Group in 2004 for two years before returning in 2009 to take up a role in the Commercial Team which he now leads.

Chris has a degree in Economics from the University of Leicester and is a chartered member of the Securities and Investment Institute.
