Graduates

If you’re talented, we’d like to recruit you early in your career. In return we offer overseas assignments and high levels of autonomy and responsibility quickly. We will also support you through accreditation, providing mentors and working with you to ensure that our graduate scheme suits your skills and qualifications, helping you build on your knowledge and add to your experience.

Think daringly

Careers for graduates at ENGIE E&P in the UK do not follow a set path. Typically, you will spend eight months to a year learning the business with us before you embark on two separate eight-month placements with other affiliate companies within the international exploration and production division of the ENGIE Group. There are many different ways to join the scheme, either through Masters sponsorship, graduate level employment, or as a result of our close relationships with leading universities.

Ben Minshell, Exploration Geologist

Ben joined the company in 2008 as an Exploration Geologist in the Central North Sea following his MSc in Petroleum Geoscience at Royal Holloway, University of London.

“The best thing about this company is that you’re given responsibility and a chance to prove yourself early on in your career. The company is keen to develop its young professionals”

“I enrolled in the graduate programme after it was set up in 2010. I had two eight month placements - the first with the asset team in ENGIE E&P in Norway, then in the New Asset Development team at the Group HQ in Paris”.

“The programme gives you a taste of all aspects of the job - exploration, development, production, operations - and you get the chance to develop your career through a range of different projects. I’ve also been on field trips around Europe and as far as Colorado!

“My current role as an exploration geologist encompasses identifying prospects that have the potential to be drilled in the future. This involves analysing and interpreting subsurface data over a vast region, conducting volume calculations and identifying the technical risks for prospects. If we drill, I assess these data real-time and incorporate the results of the well into the original concept and, ultimately, determine what we’ve found.

“There’s a real enthusiasm here for the work and for the growth strategy. We’ve almost trebled in size since I joined. There’s a nice, relaxed atmosphere with a good social side. It’s an enjoyable place to work”.
