Other projects

We hold or have an interest in around 37 current licences to explore in the UK North Sea, and we are always interested in developing our portfolio around core areas.

Below, you’ll find some examples of projects currently underway.

Juliet

Lying 39 miles off the east coast of Lincolnshire, Juliet is a subsea development on the western flank of the Southern Gas Basin. Juliet was discovered by ENGIE at the end of 2008, with project sanction taking place in June 2012. A fast track project, first gas was produced in January 2014.

Orca

The Orca gas field straddles both the UK and Dutch sectors of the North Sea, in blocks 44/24a, 44/29b and 44/30a of the UK Southern North Sea (SNS) and extends into blocks D18a and D15b of the Dutch Continental Shelf. ENGIE E&P Nederland B.V. is the operator and duty holder and ENGIE E&P in the UK Ltd is operator of the UK licences.

Initial gas was produced in December 2013, from the first well, with the second well expected on-stream shortly. Drilling is also underway for the third well.

Production is shared by the UK and Dutch affiliates. At plateau, in 2014, the platform will produce approximately 1.5 million m3 of gas per day.

Produced gas is being transported by pipeline to the existing D15a-A production platform on the Dutch Continental Shelf for further processing. It will then be transported through the Noordgastransport pipeline system to Uithuizen in the Netherlands. After final treatment, the gas will be delivered to Gas Transport Services B.V. which manages the national gas transport network in the Netherlands.
